Every year, this disease affects millions of people and is responsible for high mortality rates, especially among children under five years of age and women of childbearing age. <a href=\"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/en\/presentation-of-hu-infanta-elena-valdemoro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">Pregnant women<\/mark><\/a>. Cameroon is among the eleven most affected African countries, with more than two million cases per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conscious of this reality, Fundaci\u00f3n Recover has published the report <strong>\u201cMalaria and its devastation in sub-Saharan Africa: the Recover Foundation\u2019s initiative to reduce the social impact of malaria in Cameroon\u201d<\/strong>, This document analyzes the current situation of the disease, international and national strategies to combat it, as well as the actions promoted by Recover in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2012, the foundation has developed <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/en\/how-we-work\/#malaria\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">16 campaigns of prevention and treatment<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> in the Central and Southern regions of Cameroon, achieving the awareness of more than <strong>7,700 people<\/strong>, to perform <strong>3,570 diagnostic tests<\/strong> and treat <strong>1,633 positive cases<\/strong>.
