In 2016, the condition of her arm caught the attention of Pablo, a Spanish pilot who was then working for a Ghanaian airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Foto-Linda-en-la-cama-del-hospital.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11828\" style=\"width:254px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Foto-Linda-en-la-cama-del-hospital.jpg 600w, https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Foto-Linda-en-la-cama-del-hospital-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Foto-Linda-en-la-cama-del-hospital-9x12.jpg 9w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since then, and for ten years, Pablo maintained contact with Linda and tried by various means that she could continue her studies and regain her health, both in her country and in Spain. None of those efforts were successful and Linda\u2019s illness, which was not even diagnosed in Ghana, continued to progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, Pablo <a href=\"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/en\/what-we-do\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">He\/She got acquainted with the Pacientes program of Fundaci\u00f3n Recover<\/mark><\/a>. A conversation gave her hope that Linda could receive care in Spain. When Recover presented the case to the study, the diagnosis was immediate: Linda suffers from CLOVES syndrome, a rare disease that causes excessive and abnormal growth of body tissues along with malformations in the blood vessels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Linda-con-Marta-y-Pablo-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11829\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.7500145036839357;width:384px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Linda-con-Marta-y-Pablo-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Linda-con-Marta-y-Pablo-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Linda-con-Marta-y-Pablo-9x12.jpg 9w, https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Linda-con-Marta-y-Pablo-600x800.jpg 600w, https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Linda-con-Marta-y-Pablo.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In September, Linda was treated and operated on at the Quir\u00f3nsalud Pozuelo University Hospital. Her recovery is going well and she will return home in the coming weeks. During her stay, nurse Luc\u00eda was part of the team that accompanied her, and the two of them exchanged classes in Spanish and English. In addition, Pablo has booked a place for Linda at a school ten minutes from her home these days, instead of the one assigned to her, which is two hours away by public transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Linda's case is an example of the value of the Foundation's Pacientes program, which identifies cases of people who cannot afford treatment.<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\"> <\/mark><a href=\"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/en\/how-we-work\/#operarenespana\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">receive treatment in their home countries<\/mark><\/a><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\"> <\/mark>and coordinates its evaluation, transfer and treatment in Spain. Its development is possible thanks to a network of hospitals allied to the Quir\u00f3nsalud group, whose commitment has been key to caring for Linda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
