{"id":3790,"date":"2023-06-30T14:25:32","date_gmt":"2023-06-30T12:25:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/?p=4626"},"modified":"2024-05-30T15:08:37","modified_gmt":"2024-05-30T13:08:37","slug":"patient-healing-opportunities-taofiks-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/en\/pacientes-oportunidades-que-curan-la-historia-de-taofik\/","title":{"rendered":"Patients: opportunities that heal - Taofik's story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to the collaboration of the Quir\u00f3nsalud Pozuelo Hospital staff and Recover volunteers, she was able to return home with a new future ahead of her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His case was brought to Recover by Jorge Parise, a paediatric surgeon and President of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infanciaycirugiaendangbo.org\/\"><strong>Childhood and Surgery Association in Dangbo<\/strong><\/a><em> <\/em>who asked us to study the boy's case in 2021. Taofik had undergone surgery when he was just 4 years old for Hirschprung's disease, a congenital disorder affecting the large intestine that causes problems with bowel movements, and needed to be operated on again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The Covid-19 pandemic delayed Taofik's arrival until February 2023, when he finally underwent the very successful digestive operation he so desperately needed.
