{"id":7526,"date":"2024-11-21T15:01:15","date_gmt":"2024-11-21T14:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/?p=7526"},"modified":"2025-02-21T11:09:44","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T10:09:44","slug":"paper-for-the-annual-meeting-of-the-spanish-society-of-neurology-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/en\/ponencia-reunion-anual-sociedad-espanola-de-neurologia-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Recover Foundation highlights the importance of neurology in Africa at the LXXVI Annual Meeting of the Spanish Society of Neurology"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last month, the Recover Foundation participated in the LXXVI Annual Meeting of the Spanish Society of Neurology (SEN), where it had the opportunity to share its <a href=\"https:\/\/fundacionrecover.org\/en\/what-we-do\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">experience and commitment to neurological health in Africa<\/mark><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cristina Rodrigo Ferr\u00e1n, manager of the International Training and Volunteering programme, together with Fran\u00e7ois Roger Nguepy Keubo, nurse, clinical psychologist, psychopathologist and professor of psychology at the University of Dschang (Cameroon), <strong>gave a lecture entitled <em>\"Recover Foundation: a partner in neurology for Africa\".<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In their speech, they endorsed the WHO slogan, <em><strong>\"no health without mental health<\/strong><\/em>highlighting how in countries such as <strong>Cameroon mental health includes areas such as neurology, psychology and psychiatry.<\/strong>. In addition, they presented worrying data on the region, such as the shortage of neurologists: only 33 for more than 30 million inhabitants, equivalent to 0.00001 neurologist per inhabitant.
