Recover Foundation, Hospitals for Africa, in collaboration with the medical equipment manufacturer Hersill, has carried out a major equipment project at the Tonga Catholic Medical Centre, located in the Western Region of Cameroon, with the aim of strengthening its capacity to serve the local population.
Thanks to this partnership, seven new hospital beds, a microscope, a multiparametric monitor, a vertical autoclave and an electric aspirator have been installed. These improvements, which not only modernise the centre's facilities but also optimise laboratory and operating theatre services, directly benefit 4,200 people and indirectly benefit a further 29,400. The project, implemented during 2024, includes the training of local medical staff in the use and maintenance of the new equipment. In addition, a careful selection of local suppliers has been made to promote the sustainability of the project and the local economy.
