Recover Foundation, Hospitals for Africa, in partnership with medical equipment manufacturer Hersillhas carried out an important equipment project at the Catholic Medical Centre in Tongalocated in the West Region of Cameroon, with the aim of strengthening its capacity to serve the local population.
Thanks to this partnership, seven new hospital beds, a microscope, a multiparametric monitor, a vertical autoclave and an electric aspirator have been installed. These improvements not only modernise the centre's facilities, but also optimise the laboratory and operating theatre services, directly benefit 4,200 people and indirectly benefit another 29,400 people..
The project, which started in March 2024 and is scheduled to be completed in March 2025, includes the training of local medical staff in the use and maintenance of the new equipment. In addition, a careful selection of local suppliers has been carried out in order to promoting the sustainability of the project and the local economy.
