The auditorium of the School of Nursing and Physiotherapy of the Order of St. John of God and the Comillas Pontifical University hosted the awards ceremony for the 45th Nursing Contest. Among the prize-winners, the following article received an award "Telemedicine as a counselling tool for nurses in Central Africa".a paper that analyses the impact of Fundación Recover's Telemedicine on nursing practice in sub-Saharan Africa.
This publication is the result of the work of Recover Foundation volunteer Prof. Dr. María Rodríguez Ortega, together with a team of teachers and health professionals made up of Yolanda Ortega Latorre, Enrique Montano Navarra and Alfonso Jaime Casado Collado, as well as Cameroonian nurses François Roger Nguepy and Fleur Damou.
During the event, the director of the School, Mr. Julio César de la Torre, highlighted the work of the Recover Foundation in the training of health professionals in AfricaThe project is a major step towards improving health care for people with limited resources, underlining the importance of initiatives such as this one.
