Kouadio Junior N'Guessan, a 38-year-old man from Côte d'Ivoire, has arrived in Spain thanks to the Recover Foundation's Patients programme. I lived with pain caused by the sickle cell disease and also because of joint problems that were aggravated during the civil war in his country. After years of pain and difficulty walking, he has just undergone surgery at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz, one of our allied hospitals.
How can you help?
Junior will be in our foster flat (Moncloa area) until January and needs support in his day to day life. These are the main needs:
- Wheelchair accompaniment: Helping you to get around for medical visits or recreational activities.
- Help with basic activitiesHow to go for a walk, help with the shopping or keep him company in the foster flat.
- A single requirementIt is important to speak a little French, as it is your native language and will facilitate communication.
Your participation doesn't require a daily commitment; just an hour a day when you can, and you're making a big difference to their recovery and well-being.
