
The Eastern Region of Burkina Faso now has a new water supply system that directly benefits 33,400 people. The project, developed by the Recover Foundation in collaboration with AUARA, has consisted of the construction of a well with solar pumping system in the grounds of the local Evangelical Church Medical Centre.
The infrastructure, executed between November and December 2024, includes a well with borehole drilling down to the aquifer, a tower with two 5,000-litre tanks, three water supply points, a pumping system powered by solar panels and 40 mm pipe connections.
The project is a response to the serious shortage of drinking water in an area that has experienced a significant population increase due to internal displacement.
