As part of the collaboration between Fundación Recover and the Autonomous University of Madrid, two volunteer professionals have provided cardiology training to healthcare personnel from the Sahrawi camps.
This training adds to the ones already carried out in digestive and respiratory management, as part of a program that seeks strengthening the capacities of local teams and improve healthcare in the area.
On the ground, the volunteers Joana Ugalde Lázaro (family doctor) and Marcos Oliver Fragiel Saavedra (internist), both professionals of the Emergency Service of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid, accompanied the participants and guided the training.

16 Saharawi healthcare professionals —mainly nurses— participated in this edition, which was held in the wilaya of Auserd. The attendees came from the wilayas of Auserd, El Aaiun, Smara and Bujador.
