Fundación Recover held the seminar “Stop Palu!” at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cameroon, a meeting that brought together Cameroonian authorities, representatives of international organizations and members of civil society with the aim of strengthening the response against malaria, one of the diseases that claims the most lives in the country.

Throughout the day, data, strategies, and experiences were shared around a multisectoral approach, in which health, education, and environmental management are presented as fundamental allies in halting the spread of malaria.

Among the attendees were the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador of Spain in Cameroon, Juan Pedro Pérez-Gómez Delaunay, representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Cameroonian Ministry of Health, as well as the general director of Fundación Recover, Marta Marañón Medina, and the program manager in Cameroon, Emilie Ngono.

During the seminar A report was also presented Prepared by the Fundación Recover, which collects data and recommendations to strengthen prevention and reduce the social and economic impact of malaria in Cameroon and in sub-Saharan Africa.

With this initiative, Fundación Recover reaffirms its commitment to health in the African continent and to the creation of international collaboration spaces that allow progress towards a future free of malaria.
