Fundación Recover has inaugurated a new water and sanitation project in Abing, a small community in Djoum (South Region of Cameroon), which will guarantee access to clean water and better hygiene conditions for the local population. The initiative was made possible thanks to collaboration with AUARA Empresa Social and joint work with the Diocese of Sangmélima.
Thanks to this project, the community now has:
- A well drilled
- A rehabilitated elevated tank
- A pump and solar panels
- Improved piping for the dispensary
- New bathrooms in the dispensary
- Sanitarians in the school
- Three sources of water: for the dispensary, the school and the community
The inauguration was attended by Marta Marañón Medina, General Director of Fundación Recover, and Emilie Ngono, responsible for the program in Cameroon. They were also joined by the subprefect of Djoum, the head of the health district, the head of the community, the coordinator of the diocese and the representative of the bishop, who celebrated this important advance for the population.

With this project, Fundación Recover takes a further step in its commitment to promoting access to clean water and sanitation, essential elements for health, the prevention of diseases, and the well-being of families.
🤝 Thank you to AUARA and the Diocese of Sangmélima for making this improvement in the life of the Abing community possible.
